McDonald’s Plans To Build ‘Green’ McDonald’s In North Miami,
NBC6.net, Jeff Burnside reporting. [11.13.08] A McDonald’s
golden arches are about to turn green in North Miami modeled after a
McDonald’s in Chicago near company headquarters, which is the first
green prototype opening in August. It features a front counter made
of recycled detergent bottles, bamboo ceiling, recycled glass
windows, permeable concrete and even vegetated rooftops.

interviewed in Morningside Heights, NY. He sponsored a bill that
allows buildings owners who install green roofs on at least 50
percent of their available roof space to apply for a one year
property tax credit of up to $100,000 dollars. That's roughly 25
percent of what it costs to install a green roof.
